Montebello di Bertona

Montebello di Bertona is a town which is located on a hilltop in the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park. It is found 615 metres above sea level and has a population of 994. It has been inhabited since prehistoric times and it takes its name from Mount Bertona where the ruins of a medieval castle can be seen.

The area offers much in the way of outdoor activities including, skiing, trekking, horseback riding, cycling, nature photography and birdwatching to name but a few!

Montebello has a number of facilities including a small supermarket, butcher, post office, cafés, pizzeria and restaurant. The nearby town of Penne has a full range of amenities including large supermarkets.
