Solid wood stairs lead from the dining area to the first floor where there are three bedrooms with exposed beams - one carpeted and two with chestnut flooring. A large landing with ample storage and a second fully tiled shower room with WC complete the first floor.

The house was built around 1845 and at that time was the only house in the hamlet. It is a typical Perigordine fermette and is understood to have been the original farmhouse, with various dependancies including the barn at the top of the garden. Originally only the ground floor was habitable and the original evier (stone sink) is under the window alongside the front door. It is believed that the small barn adjoining the house which has a much lower pitched roof and is now a garage, was used for animals. It is also believed that the first floor of the house was converted to living accommodation in the late 1980s by the then owner, a Parisien architect, and the opportunity was taken to extend into upper part of the barn/garage at that time.
