This fantastic medieval castle, dating back to the XIth century, is located in Piedmont, overlooking the Monferrato hills. Surrounded by green landscapes, it offers a perfect location of great privacy yet near all the most important modern facilities.
It is one of the most beautiful castles in Italy, perfectly preserved thanks to an accurate maintenance.
During the centuries the property has been renovated and modified, with some characteristic details dating back to various periods of its history. Alessandria was founded in 1168 in order to create an obstacle through its strategic position to the Marquis of Montferrat Guglielmo the Old. It was named in honour of the Emperor's opponent, Pope Alexander III and together with Milan it became the symbol of the Longobards. During its history it belonged to different families, until 1707 when it was ceded to the House of Savoy, becoming a part of Piedmont Region.
