The property was completely renovated with recovered materials, inside and out and also solidified structurally to a seismic level in 1998.
Looking at the walls of the house it is easy to notice that the central part was erected many centuries ago, as a tower, probably a lookout point so as to defend the city, to which was later added the side blocks that make up a single structure.
The stone used for façade is the local stone, square and completely hand done. The excellent restoration was finished in 1998. The materials that were used have all been recovered and carefully relocated: local stone for masonry, roof tiles, wooden beams, terracotta tiles, terracotta flooring handmade, stone slabs for the flooring of the ground floor, while shutters and window frames are wood with double glazing.
The farmhouse is located on a gently sloping plot of land, this situation leads to three levels plus a fourth; below street, ground floor, first floor, second floor.
The below street level consists of a large area in the lower side of the house, currently used as a storage area, this large basement area is not a true basement as it is not underground given the slight tilt of the ground.
The ground floor consists of a small apartment with private entrance living room-kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. On the same floor there is a lounge and a laundry area, the latter connected by a spiral staircase to the first floor. Both venues are paved with the original flagstones.
The first floor is accessed via a lodge where there is also a characteristic wood oven, which still working. At the entrance there is a bright and spacious hallway which also accesses the second floor. After crossing the hallway one reaches the living room in which stands a stately, old fireplace made of wood and stone. Here there are also majestic and impressive beams that were once part of the floors of the tower. The same living area is connected to the kitchen, the bathroom and a large bedroom.
On the second floor, accessed via an internal staircase in masonry with steps done in handcrafted wood. On this floor we find a small studio with a bathroom of about 30sqm and another apartment with living room and dining room, kitchen, two double bedrooms and a bathroom.
The property is afforded 80 square meters in extra building allowance to be used to realize a small annex. The external courtyard is well maintained and decorated with ornamental plants. In total the property has 2.7 hectares of land including 50 olive trees.
