FRIGILIANA is a village in the province of Málaga, often visited for the beauty of its historic Moorish section, beauty for which it has been awarded two first prizes for embellishment from the state and the region. Its location in the eastern part of the Costa del Sol, overlooking the sea of Nerja and at the foot of the Natural Park of the Sierra Tejada and Almijara, make it an idyllic place to establish a first or second residence.
Frigiliana is a tranquil village which at the same time is well connected to the principal centers of the province by the Autovia del Mediterráneo A-7. It is only 45 minutes from Málaga and the airport. One can be at the beach in 10 minutes and in Granada in less than one hour. There is frequent bus service between Frigiliana and Nerja.
Among other historical facts, the village is known for the battle of Peñon of Frgiliana, between Christian troops and the Moorish people in rebellion against the Spanish Kingdom in the XVI century.
