L'Antica Vedetta enjoys a splendid view and great privacy and is reached along about 300 meters of white road in good condition. The forested rolling hills, culminating lower down in cultivated fields, give the feeling of living in an idyllic setting, surrounded by castles and fortresses. The nearest hamlet (and bar) is 5 minutes by car, closest town is Umbertide about 10 km, 10 km Preggio, Perugia 25-minute drive. Airport of Sant 'Egidio 25-minute drive.
Of note is the vicinity (5 km) to the 18 hole Golf Club Antognolla, which was designed by the renowned architect Robert Trent Jones.
L'Antica Vedetta is located in a marvellous position between Perugia and Umbertide, in an unspoilt area where many old castles (like the Antognolla) and medieval towers are found. The access is very easy, via a long gravel road about 300 m.
The land, is made up of woods and olive groves, covering 3.5 hectares (9 acres).
The main building, a very old medieval watchtower in stone lovingly restored in 2005, has a gross area of approximately 355 square meters and lies on 3 floors.
On the ground floor, there are the technical rooms (with filters for the pool, the water treatment system and boilers for central heating) and most importantly a large room of over 70 sq m, with bathroom and provisions for a kitchen.
The remaining part of the ground houses 2 rooms with a bathroom, perfectly appointed and once used as an independent apartment to let; the 70 sq m room can be easily connected to the unit next door, so to create a very spacious apartment.
The traditional external staircase grants access to the main house (215 sq m), lying on the first and second floor; this comprises a living room with open fire-place, kitchen-dining, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the first floor and lounge/dining room, bedroom and bathroom on the second floor; there is the possibility to create 2 separate units, if desired.
The pool is 12x6 m. The coating, done in earth tones, makes the water seem green and so integrates well into the naturalistic context. All around the pool is a paved area for sunbathing.
In the two outbuildings there are two self contained 1 bedroom units of 55 sq and 30 sq m; the smaller one is currently designated as non residential but changing the designated use is easy.
Furniture can be separately negotiated.
