Vila da Fonte has a large roof terrace with stunning mountain views and another pretty little terrace which is perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine and a book. There is a large tiled area around the pool and an outdoor shower. The former mule shed is now a lovely restored stone building where we store the outdoor furniture, toys and bikes. Just behind the pool is the lawn with another stone building for storing logs, and steps lead down from the pool area to a gated parking area for two cars. Access to this is via a cobbled road. There is also parking for one car at the front of the house.

Vila da Fonte has many established shrubs and fruit trees, figs, plums, apples, pears, oranges, clementines, lemons, physallis & grape vines. There is also a terrace with 6 olive trees and a plot for growing vegetables. A natural fonte runs through the garden (hence the name). This used to supply mountain water to all of the villagers prior to tap water being available. The sound of trickling water is very relaxing and it is lovely to see the various frogs and newts that it attracts.

Vila da Fonte is a special place in a beautiful and peaceful location, yet only ten minutes drive from Castanheira de Pera which has all the essential amenities(banks, supermarkets, pharmacy, health centre, vet, restaurants and cafes). Here you will also find the wonderful Praia de Rocas, a lido with wave machines, pedalos, houseboats, cafe/bar etc.
