Crescent-shaped Santorini is actually a group of islands consisting of Thira, Thirassia, Aspronissi, Palea and Nea Kameni in the southernmost part of Cyclades. The whole complex of Santorini islands is still an active volcano and probably the only volcano in the world whose crater is in the sea. The beautiful organic shape and proportions of the smooth walls, vaulted ceilings and arched openings tell the story of the canava and how it was constructed by carving into the soft pumice stone earth of the village hills. Another notable feature of the mansion is its natural ambient interior temperature. The natural insulation of the earthen walls of the space regulated the temperature of the canava year-round, to help preserve the wine stored in barrels. Today, this natural insulation continues to produce an advantage for the mansion, maintaining a constantly cool interior environment, even on the hottest summer days.

The house is arranged over one floor, covering a total area of 250 sqm. The house is accessed through the open patio. The door opens to the foyer which connects in an open continuous space with two sitting areas and the dining area. There is access to the kitchen and a bathroom.
