Kalkan is found between the large modern city of Antalya to the east and the busy cosmopolitan harbour and marina town of Fethiye, the town does belong to the Antalya province though its close road network with Fethiye means that most of the towns visitors use the international airport of Dalaman for shorter transfer times to reach Kalkan.
Most of the town's homes are built around the bay similar to an ancient amphitheatre watching the star of the performance, the clear blues waters of the Mediterranean sea, with homes with the best sea views taking the most expensive seats in the house, rather like their price tags on the real estate market in Turkey.
