All windows were replaced with dg PVC in 2001, the heating system upgraded with the addition of an oil- fired stanley range.
A new septic tank and percolation area were added at rear of house and a filtration system, UV added to pumphouse for well.
In addition, a reverse osmosis system was inserted in kitchenette.
The house is structurally sound, warm and safe..its clean, but cluttery! Downstairs ceilings are low. but upstairs are high.
Two pet catios have been added to front and rear of house which gives pet cats access to outdoors safely.
House is at the end of a country lane. It is a mere 3 miles off the N 69 Limerick Kerry road, being exactly 16 miles from Limerick City. There is a very good secondary school, Salesians in Pallaskenry , as well as a third level college for agriculture students, and anotherin Askeaton village, both 4 miles from the house.
Limerick city is host to UL and various technological colleges etc. The little village of ballysteen is a mere 5 minute walk from the house and has an excellent primary school and excellent fruit and vegetable dealers.
the house is a 5 minute walk from Beagh castle and pier, the mouth of the Shannon estuary..
The land is located to the south, north and west of the house.
No chemicals or fertilisers have been used on this land since '97.. it has been dedicated to wildlife and extraordinarily beautiful birds nest here. There are many trees and its a wonderful natural habitat. extremely peaceful, with no passing traffic..
the 2 front gardens are absolutely full of colourful shrubs and also contains apple trees and some fruit bushes.
it is ideally suited to somebody who would love and appreciate a landscape that is utterly wild and beautiful.
There are very many outbuildings as there are 2 yards.. these would be suitable for a variety of uses, possibly development, depending on planning permissions.
The quietness is absolutely extraordinary..the birdsong providing the only melody, almost constantly.
In 2012 the entire interior of house was drylined and the 2 downstairs extensions, bathroom and kitchenette had exterior drylining applied.
