The residence, a former family mansion, has been carefully renovated with a good balance of tradition and modernity.
The apartment is a top floor duplex loft apartment of 198m² with a further 39m² under 1.8m in height and it comprises :
• Entrance into a spacious lobby cum office area
• Kitchen area
• Living area with a large bay window overlooking Lyon
• Bedroom under the eaves

Upstairs :

From the hallway there is an opening through the roof that takes you to the rooftop 60m² terrace with the most spectacular breath-taking and panoramic views of Lyon (all of these superlatives are justified)
It has oodles of charm highlighted by its and authentic features with its beams ceiling and its majestic volumes.

The attractive 3-storey residence is in the middle of a 7 000m² wooded park, which provides for a quiet and secure environment.
There is also a private tennis court available for residents only.

Works to the park, the grounds and the tennis court, as well as the outside renovation of the buildings and the common parts within the buildings are all completed.
The interior of this apartment is all that remains to be finished and estimates of the basic costs involved are available; these are in addition to the purchase price of this apartment. There are a great variety of materials that are available to use and, at this stage it is also possible to vary the layout of this apartment depending on your personal requirements, we would discuss this on an individual basis.

If this project is something you are interested in or if you would like further information, then please contact us, as we would be delighted to discuss your ideas and individual requirements.

The area:
Lyon is the third largest city in France, after Paris and Marseilles. Its history reaches as far back as Roman times and was the major city of ancient Gaul. It lies at the junction of two great rivers, the Rhône and the Saône, which converge to the south.
There are many important historical buildings to explore as well as the basilica. For example, there is the Hotel Dieu, which was originally built in the 12th century and later rebuilt by the architect JG Soufflot in the 18th century. There is the Musée de Beaux-Arts, which can be found in the former Abbey of the Ladies of St-Pierre, in the centre of the city. It has one of the largest art collections in France including ancient Egyptian art as well as works by artists such as Manet, Monet, Picasso and many others. There is also, just beyond the Cathédrale St-Jean the Vieux Lyon metro that leads to remarkable Roman remains.
As with any major European city there are excellent shopping facilities, with the famous Part-Dieu shopping centre, located beneath the Credit Lyonnais Tower, a short distance from the TGV station.
Lyon is also known as the gastronomic capital of France and as such there are a multitude of restaurants and bistros in the town that offer everything from simple market produce, or regular fast food, right up to the finest cuisine of anywhere.

St Exupery international airport is about 25 km east of Lyon with flights from the UK handled by most of the major airlines. The TGV station is also there and it is a two-hour trip from Paris and three-hour trip from Lille.

From the lavender fields in the Drôme, which borders Provence, to the snow-capped mountains of Haute-Savoie, bordering Switzerland and with all of the outdoor activities that those 2 extremes conjure up and yes, sitting around in the sun is definitely “an activity”.

It is the largest and most diverse region of France, it truly has something for everyone and is at the very centre of Europe and extremely accessible by road; rail and air.

You can choose to be in the heart of the countryside; in a tiny village; a bustling town; on top of a mountain (or at the bottom) ; by a lake or by one of the vast parks of natural beauty for which the area is so renowned.

The region boasts 3 major towns of which one, Lyon, is second only in importance to Paris. Grenoble and St Etienne are both also very important centres of culture and business.

It is a 3 hour drive to the Mediterranean coast and it is completely plausible to ski and swim on the same day.
