The property is in Raito, part of the Vietri (Salerno) municipality. The house is located on a panoramic cliff on the Amalfi Coast, very close to both Salerno and the exit to the main highway of the region. A very strategic location which gives this property all the benefits of being on the Amalfi Coast without the hassle of having to drive miles on the windy, and traffic-filled, roads of the Coast.

The house is easily accessible via a few steps that lead to it from the main street, unlike other houses in the area, which require hard walks up long staircases. The property is steps away from the local pharmacy, the post office, a deli and a greengrocer. Additionally, even though it is adjacent to other properties, it has the advantage of having its independent entrance and privacy.

This house is a historical property built over an arch. Throughout the years its height was increased, giving it its vertical structure over 4 floors (in addition to the storage room which originally was a water cistern).
One of the key characteristics of this property is that it overlooks both the vineyard-covered hills of San Vito, towards the North, and the Mediterranean Sea, towards the South.
The renovations we've made are fully sustainable as we kept as many original details as possible, while making the property functional and suitable for modern living.
The main structure is the result of masonry work. The ceilings have all been redone together with their covering and lintels.
We used the attic and panoramic terrace to create a welcoming bedroom with bathroom and storage (in accordance with law number 15/2000), with visible wooden beams - including a more than centenarian weight-bearing beam, which we treated with specific restoration products.
We recovered the original shingles, as well as the wooden beams of the attic (in conformity with all anti-seismic building requirements and using a system of "connettori a secco" or dry connectors). The original solid wood door (in chestnut) and the old cistern were recovered as well. The cistern area today functions as a storage room, but it can easily be converted to a cellar or a small garage (for a Smart car or two motorcycles), in conformity with law number 19/2001.
Additionally, we installed a floor and wall heating system with low energy consumption (Rehau system with a watertight boiler - C Type). This type of system allows for more space and eliminates unaesthetic radiators.

Every corner, every recess, all spaces have been utilized at their full potential to obtain maximum livability in a house without straight walls, which is a striking feature but entails more challenges when decorating. Because of the uniqueness of the space, we have customized all elements of the home made by carpenters, glass-makers and blacksmiths. The details are high-end as we used mosaics and tiles from Bisazza and Sicis, Flaminia bathroom fixtures, Fantini faucets, Colombo and Grohe bathroom accessories.
Everything was put into place with the required authorizations and certificates of conformity to standards, energetic (class C) and structural.
