Oliva Where is Oliva? Oliva is at the far north of the Costa Blanca coast where it meets the Costa del Azahar. Oliva is located in the region of Valencia. How to get to Oliva? Oliva is situated between Alicante and Valencia Airports. The main motorway AP7 Junction 61. By car it will take about 50 minutes to Valencia Airport and about an hour ten to Alicante Airport. By Train from Valencia Airport to Gandia and a bus to Oliva which is very popular for people who do not drive. By tram from Alicante Airport to Denia and then a bus to Oliva. Taxis are available but costly. Buses are cheaper and Beniconnect Travel seems to be the most popular and can connect you to most places. Places of Interest Oliva is full of things to see and do so here are just a few. 1. San Roc Church is situated in a beautiful square with coffee shops and cafés. Inside the church if you are lucky enough to see is the most amazing décor with golden decoration and just oozing wealth and charm. Built in the 15th Century and was originally a mosque over the years it became a church and various alterations due to age and wear and tear. 2. Santa Maria La Major Church is situated at the lower part of the Old Town and is just a beautiful as San Roc again with plenty of wealth and character. 3. Historical tour along this tour are various things to see, there is the Old Priest house, kilns, turrets of the old Castle and at the top of the hill the Castle still stands which is a great place to go walking. Beaches INCREDIBLE. Not over crowded like most of the Costa Blanca Beaches. The main thing is the beaches are never over crowded which is why they are so popular with the Spanish. Along the beaches there are nature reserves in the sand dunes and most plants are protected like most of the coastline in Valencia. Near the shops are the life guards and Red Cross centre. Market Oliva has a busy market on a Friday morning selling an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables. Activities Tennis club situated on the main road between Oliva town and the beach. Tennis lessons are available for all standards you can relax after with a meal in the club or light refreshments. Golf Course Oliva Nova Golf Course has 9 or 18 holes and you can choose which you wish to play, designed by world famous Spanish golfer Seve Ballesteros. The course is next to the beach situated on a 5 star complex, there is a driving range, professional coaches for lessons for all abilities. Equestrian Centre Oliva Nova has the world's best riders will gather in the Equestrian Centre Oliva Nova. Oliva Nova this is the newer part of Oliva and is actually a few kilometres away. The beaches are stunning, the buildings are newer and it is close to the Equestrian Centre and Golf Course, there are a few shops and restaurants so is perfect for holidays. The original part of Oliva Nova is Les Bassettes urbanisation with a few houses next to the beach and camp sites. Terranova this is in walking distance to the beaches and town. Located the north side of Oliva and some of the roads are due to be widened. So please check if you are buying here that the road is not going to take off your front garden. Your lawyer will be able to get this information from the town hall. Tossal Gros well Tossal gros is actually under the town of La Font D'en Carros but is closer to Oliva town. Very popular location with an ex pat community. Sea views from most of the villas here up the coastline to Cullera and Valencia. The urbanisation is not too expensive you can get a detached villa from 145,000€ approximately £115,000. Most have communal pools but only shared with 6 villas which is a bonus as most of the villas are only used in the winter months so the pools are often quiet. There is a woodland walk from the top of this urbanisation to the pretty town of La Font D'en carros so if you have dogs and feel energetic may be worth a trip. Burgara this is near the beach and Kiko Port, little houses in the orange groves some have mains electric and others are completely off grid. A popular way of life here in Spain. Rabdells this is on the southern side of Oliva close to Oliva Nova Golf and the Equestrian centre. Mostly beach properties and easy access to town if needed. Restaurants and bars are nestled in the orange groves. Oliva Old Town this is the original part of Oliva with the castle at the top of the hill. It is a love or hate place like marmite. Very popular with the Spanish, English and French a great community with an abundance of things to see and do. A short walk down the hill takes you to Main town Oliva. Main Town Oliva with everything you need if life, supermarkets, bars restaurants, 24 hour medical centre bus route to the beaches, bus to Gandia, banks, iron mongers (ferreteria), schools, markets indoor and outdoor on a Friday morning, Chinese restaurants, tapas bars, sports bar, lawyers everything. Beachside Pau Pi and Agua Blanca here is where the summer action is, restaurants open, supermarket, life guards, pop up summer bars, Oli Bar Bar to dance the night away a thriving place for the summer. Although most of the shops and restaurants are closed in the winter not all but the majority are.
