The stone floor, fireplace and spiral staircase were commissioned locally, the stairs leading to a mezzanine area.

The Guardian's Cottage - It is now a comfortable home with a large fully fitted oak breakfast kitchen, Charentaise fireplace and wood burner. There are windows to the side and French doors to the lovely rear garden. The spacious living room features an exposed stone wall and also has a fireplace with wood burner and windows to the front and side. Stairs lead up to two large double bedrooms and the family bathroom.

While the property is private and rural it is within walking distance of the local town with shops, bars, bank and post office as well as the market - twice weekly in summer. There are several restaurants in the vicinity and the beaches at Meschers and St Georges are a short drive away. The larger towns of Royan and, inland, Saintes are 20 - 25 minutes by car.
