Rafelcofer is located in the province of Valencia, in the Valencian Community, on the Costa del Azahar (Orange Blossom Coast), 74 km south of the city of Valencia, 34.2 km north of Dénia, 42.5 km east of Xàtiva and 106 km north of the city of Alicante. It belongs to La Safor County. Situated just 6 km south of La Safor County's capital Gandia, Rafelcofer stands 20 meters above sea level on the central plain formed by the lower course of the river Serpis. Well connected to nearby towns and villages, it lays in the middle of two major roads linking Tarragona and St. Joan d'Alacant: N332 (National Road 332) and Freeway AP7. The municipal boundaries of Rafelcofer border on the north with Bellreguard and Almoines, on the east with l'Alqueria de la Comtessa, on the south with Font d'en Carròs and on the west with Beniarjó and Beniflà. It is part of the Judicial District of Gandia, and it belongs, as said above, to the province of Valencia as well as to the Valencia Regional Court, Captaincy and Diocese. Rafelcofer location in the middle of Gandia’s orchards (Huerta de Gandia) and along the right bank of the river Serpis accounts for the fact that almost the entire ground of its municipal area—with the exception of Rabat Hill, which is a one kilometer long and 176 m high isolated limestone knoll typical of this sort of flood plains—sits on a fertile plain of clay soil composed of quaternary sediments formed during the Pleistocene epoch. A flat terrain with an average altitude of 20 m above sea level, it gradually ascends toward the south-west as it approaches Gallinera Mountain Range (Sierra Gallinera). The highlands situated in the south-west part of the municipality fall within Huitena, Runa and Caracol districts, while the lowlands belong to Sotaia—district which continues through the municipalities of La Alquería de la Condesa and Bellreguard, beingBellreguard trail its natural boundary—and La Vega districts. The district of Racó is a transition area between the lowlands and Rabat Hill. There is a small 50 m high hillock known as El Calvari in the western part of the district, close to Rabat Hill.
