Additional Information.

The village is some 25 minutes from the main coastal town of Limassol with a good road access. There is local taverna which specilaizes in Greek dishes, an excellant village mini market.. A further Taverna has recently opened in another nearby village. There are many tradesmen living in the village to carry out any work one wants doing.The village is sitting on a large underground reservoir which supplies spring water to all residents the whole year round even during the long,hot summer months.So watering ones garden is not a problem .Average water bills are approx Euro 20 per quarter. Village rates per annum is Euro 140.
There is a village kinder- garden and primary school.

Skips are located throught the village for waste, which are collected twice weekly. There are also some bottle banks.

There is a mountainous , pine covered area called kako Malis, which is ideal for walking, jogging ,biking and taking in the fresh,pine mountain air. There is a designated picnic area with running water,toilets within secluded woodland.

The village and surrounding villages are known as the Commanderia Wine growing region. Each summer, a festival is held in the village square, to celebrate the maturity of the wine which dates back many centuries. Also there is a strong agricultural and horticulture presence within the surrounding area.

A very safe,quite environment to live. The local villagers are friendly,polite and welcome outsiders. Family bonds are strong. Kalohorio is a live village with a positive future, hence the reason why infrastructure is on the increase but maintaining the beauty of the area in general.

The nearest golf course is some 15-20 miles East.. Many personnel from the village play golf there; and each year the Kalohorio Masters is played there.

European citizens of retirement age qualify for free health care at government hospitals. Each Thursday morning, a Dr and staff visits the village surgery for appointments, supplying free medication, health checks, arranging hospital appointments etc.
