This historic villa has been restored but adhering at all times to its Villa Liberty styling and atmosphere. The villa is just 4 km from Barga and 2 km from the train station. As you walk through the door into the spacious hall of this beautiful Liberty style villa, you are swept back to the time of the Great Gatsby. In actual fact the original owners of the villa had restaurants in Boston at that time. The property has changed hands just four times over the last century and something of that Golden Age has remained in the villa with its wide, airy hallways, internal glass and frescoes.
The Pieroni family, attended by a butler, lived at the villa until the 1970s. Up the pure marble stairs are five stunningly beautiful bedrooms, a bedroom/study and three bathrooms. The master bedroom is en-suite.One storey higher is the attic and tower, comprising a glazed loggia.
The exterior of the property painted with typical warm yellow ochre, emerald green blinds and decorated with frescoes. The only part of the villa that is yet to be restored is the tower.
Underneath the villa is a massive, naturally-lit wine-cellar with its own windows and external doors into the garden. This could be converted into a private gym, swimming pool or sauna. Across the way is a garage where at least five cars can be parked. There is another two-storey barn/ garage on the road.
An empty lemon house can be found under the south-facing terrace. The hanging terrace garden is dominated by the Pania mountain and on the bottom boundary of the property, is secluded woodland, there are two further buildings, one of them a small 18th/19th century watermill, to be restored.
Next to the swimming pool is a two-storey dependence, with a further loggia overlooking the valley, which could be converted into a stunning separate residence or flat. The APE lasts 10 years so the work can be done at any time.


Barga is known as a city of Music, Culture and Cuisine and this property is situated lower down the hill under this beautiful Mediaeval town within very easy access of public transport and all the services of modern.
The property has very easy access with tarmac road leading right up to the entrance to the grounds. There is then 200 m of gravel driveway leading up to the house itself.
