This area has always been popular with the Spanish who have been holidaying here for years. It is still far less commercialised than other areas. The climate is excellent as the bay is enclosed by mountain ranges giving it a `micro climate´ resulting in more than 300 days of sunshine every year with the temperature rarely falling below 18 degrees Centigrade! Over the summer months there is a vibrant local market in each village where you can buy locally grown fruit and vegetables. If you want a bigger selection there is a much larger market every Sunday throughout the year in Puerto de Mazarrón.
