From the garden there is access to a sitting room which has been converted from the original cellar, leaving the exposed wooden beams and some exposed stone work. This room can also double as a third bedroom and can be accessed from the living area of the house (near to the front door) via an internal wooden staircase.
The main bathroom is found just off the living area, up a few stairs. Continuing up the stairs to the first floor are two bedrooms, the first with a window overlooking the garden and the second running the full width of the house with double-aspect windows. Both bedrooms have double glazing.
This house is being sold fully furnished and move in ready.
This property would make an ideal holiday home or characteristic permanent dwelling. It is within easy reach of the coast, Grosseto is just 20 km away and Castiglione della Pescaia is only 38 km away. It is midway between Rome and Florence, both at about 125 km and Pisa is just 136 km away.
The present day town of Scansano dates back to the medieval times, but it was first inhabited by Etruscans and Romans. It is located in the beautiful countryside of Maremma, with panoramic views. It has an archaeological museum with findings from the original Etruscan and Roman settlements and a Wine Museum celebrating its famous wine, Morellino di Scansano which is said to have its roots in the Etruscan era. But Scansano is not just famous for its wine but also for its olive oil; which is of a very high quality.
Every weekend in September there is the Morellino wine and food tasting festival, which takes place in the various medieval wine cellars in Scansano and the agritourisms scattered around the area.
