Full description:

This manor house dates back to 1745 and has a rich and interesting history. At the beginning of the 20th century a previous owner, Count Valentino Carli, operated a school of architecture within the property.

As is traditional with hillside properties, one enters through large wooden doors into a vestibule, complete with original bread oven, that leads in to the lounge with its traditional stone fireplace. Here, as in the rest of the house, the floors are terracotta and the ceilings feature beams of walnut and chestnut. Double glass doors open out to the stone balcony at the front of the house and through to the heart of the house, the spacious kitchen built in the traditional Tuscan way with large wood burning open fireplace and long dining table. Off this kitchen dining room is a large laundry with further storage and anti room and cloakroom.

The floor above comprises the artist's studio (80 sq m)- one large open room flanked by two anti rooms and a separate stone stepped outside entrance. On this floor above the lounge there is a large double aspect bedroom with dressing room and en suite bathroom.

Directly above this room on the top floor there is an identical en suite bedroom and dressing room, this one however featuring a loggia style, floor to ceiling triple window with spellbinding views. The rest of this top floor comprises three other large bedrooms and a spectacular shower room.

The whole house is light filled and gives out a warm ambience. Every window provides views of verdant slopes, mountains, trees and many glimpses of the local wildlife.

One half of the ground floor of the house is made up of dry cellar and cantina space and the other half houses a self contained and up to date one bedroom apartment consisting of bedroom, shower room, sitting room and dining kitchen.

Adjacent to the house is a long stone building of seven high arched windows that lead on to the terraced garden. This is the fully restored limonaia which has a traditional wood burning fireplace, underfloor heating with further cellars below.
There are three outer buildings in need of restoration. The cantina in close proximity to the house was where the wine of the property was made and the original wine vat remains on the ground floor. The roof of this building has been restored but further work is required. Another barn is located through the woodland of the property and the third is further down the hillside.

A special feature of the house is the attractive paved area with its shaded outdoor dining. The swimming pool is located on the upper slopes at the rear of the main house and enjoys a spectacular panorama of the mountains.

Natural spring water is used for the garden and mains water for the house. The entire complex has gas central heating serviced by separate boilers for more efficient and economical use of energy.
