The house is on a road which runs through the town but is very well priced indeed and the garden is outstanding. It is rare with town houses to get any garden at all and this one is great.
This house was on sale originally at 118.000 € but we have been unable to sell it as we did not have keys and arranging visits was very difficult. Quillan itself has seventeen restaurants, two good supermarkets, twice weekly markets and all the types of general shops that you could want for. In addition the town is superbly served with transport links. There is a direct rail line to Carcassonne (less than an hour by car) with its world heritage site of La Cite and airport which has low cost flights (Ryanair) to numerous international and British airports. Perpignan airport (Ryanair and Air France) is about 1 hour 10 minutes and Toulouse International (the much better Easyjet) about 1 hour 25 minutes.
The Spanish border is a 1 hour 25 minutes and the Mediterranean about the same distance (ignore the siren calls of less honest estate agents who claim that 'it is less than hour to the Med'. In a helicopter maybe!).
