Walking, bowls and craft clubs are also plentiful so there is always something that you can get involved with should you wish to.

Los Gallardos is a popular destination for Spanish and tourists alike for the annual Three Kings celebration and re-enactment in January and also the July fiesta. The village has received considerable funding to build a new health centre, school and sports facilities with plans for a new cultural centre too.

Huerta Nueva has a good working relationship with the Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) via its network of community Presidents and villa representatives. A positive community spirit exists and people are happy to help each other without living in each other's pockets! Together, with the Ayuntamiento's funding, residents are developing a lake area that is bringing wildlife to the area and providing a pleasant environment in which to live.
