Land for sale
- Land area: 5 square meters
There is mains electricity and a septic tank. We collect rain water for drinking and washing not a problem its standard practice here and is easily collected from the roof. No landline telephone but mobile and landline wireless phones work great, internet is 1Mb using a mobile phone.
Landscape is quite steep in places but all parts are accessible the land is flat at the top as its on a ridge and then slopes down to another flat part at the bottom. The slopes would be good for growing stuff as it would be well drained. The garden area is already landscaped with mature trees and grass areas.
The land is pretty much the southern most point of the main island Viti Levu.
The lots about 2 to 3 km off the main Suva to Nadi road and around 600ft up, its walking distance to the sea if you like walking, or about 5 min drive down the hill. The access road is dirt but concrete in uphill sections 4wd is NOT required people even do it on mopeds! It?s around 1hr from Sigatoka, 2 hrs from Nadi and 1 hr (70km) from Suva. From Nadi head to Suva on the queens highway its not complicated, if you don't know Fiji there is only one road!!, After a village called Korovisolou when you see a sign for Waidroka Resort turn right up the dirt track and that's the road to the estate, if you get to pacific harbour you've missed it, follow it over the top of the hill into waidroka estate and turn left into Retreat road the land is down there on the left and right, you have to provide access across the lot for others further down the road but the raod can be moved to provide a cul-de-sac and access given further down. If you want to visit let us know as we live in Fiji full time so it?s not a problem to show you round. There aren't many neighbors! Both the adjacent lots have small houses on but they are unoccupied, have been empty for around 5 years! I know one of the owners well and he is now permanently living in Thailand, his house is a very small sort of NZ Bach. The other is 2 story wooden and cannot be seen from our lot and as far as I know never been lived in. There are only 5 or 6 houses on the whole road. And apart from Erwin?s next door you can?t see any! Even his is not exactly obtrusive. It is extremely quite the only noise is any traffic on the road to the resort, maybe 2 or 3 cars a day. If you?re a surfer you might have heard of frigates reef one of the best breaks in Fiji, you can see it from the lot.
The whole estate is over 300 acres and has maybe 20 houses in it most lots are empty just rainforest. Very few people live there full time maybe 4 of 5 couples most people come and go at random intervals. Attached is a link on Google earth. And some pictures of the house we had there to give you an idea of what?s possible. As suggested in one of the photos it is possible to relocate the house on the center of the ridge by moving the access road which is perfectly possible . Approval is already in place for something the same or similar to what was there.
The house is no longer there but foundations etc are. It is lot number 2 on the attached pdf map.
Historically Waidroka means 'good/fresh water' it has lots of little streams.
It was sold to a European in the 1800's and I think used to be a copra plantation years ago but has long been reclaimed by the jungle and
Has some big trees in places. We planted some mahogany and there is plenty of scope for more if you wanted.
