An excellent opportunity to purchase a very well renovated detached house, sitting in one of the fabulous "Plus Beaux Villages de France" - Curemonte. Away from the tourist traffic, this charming and deceptively spacious house offers a peaceful retreat, and is ideal as a Maison Secondaire or as a main residence.
You enter the house into a traditional hallway, and to the left is a generous kitchen / dining room, with a good range of units and appliances. A door leads to a covered loggia which overlooks the garden and has a flight of stone steps down to the lower ground floor. There is also an outside utility / WC.
On the opposite side of the hallway is a double aspect lounge, 7.2 x 3.3 metres with a wooden parquet floor. The rooms are notably very luminous and well decorated.
Stairs lead up to the 1st floor, with a small landing, before revealing 2 bedrooms each having an en-suite, (one is a bathroom and the other a shower room). Also on this floor is a 3rd bedroom or study.
The property is in very good decorative order, and has the benefit of a modern gas central heating system. There are wonderful views to the rear over rolling countryside.
Beneath the house is a useful workshop area, boiler room and utility. The house was rewired approximately 7 years ago, and the house is connected to mains drainage.
The gardens of 558m2 are terraced and designed for low maintenance. There are several different areas to enjoy the scenery. There is a good variety of mature plants and shrubs, including a fabulous wisteria covered pergola provides shade in the summer months.
Curemonte lies at the southern tip of the Correze, near the borders with the Lot and Dordogne departments. It is close to two other Plus Beaux Villages - Turenne and Collonges-la-Rouge, whilst just over the Lot border, you can enjoy Autoire, Carrennac & Loubressac.
There are three chateaux in Curemonte - the Chateau de Plas, Chateau de la Johannie & the Chateau de Saint-Hilaire. The village is also unspoiled by lots of gift shops and cafes, but there is a nice restaurant to enjoy a meal with a panoramic view. There is also a weekly "farmers market" held in the summer, where you can BBQ your own steak and enjoy a convivial meal with the neighbours.
There are numerous other tourist attractions locally, such as the Gouffres de Padirac, Rocamadour, and Sarlat. Nearest village with shops is Meyssac at 10 kms, although Beaulieu sur Dordogne is almost as close. Travel is easy with the A20 at around 30 minutes and the airport at Brive / Vallee de la Dordogne around 40 minutes drive.
