Savills is delighted to present Ardnacarrig House, one of Cork's most special period properties. Ardnacarrig House, started life as Park View in the early 1800's, originally owned by James C. Allman, a Whiskey distiller who had his very own distillery known as Allman & Co Ltd across the Bandon River, it was once one of the most successful distilleries in all of Ireland. c. 1889 saw the construction of a suspension bridge over the River Bandon from Ardnacarrig House to the Distillery, the approaching steps leading from the main house to the bridge are still in place today.

Ardnacarrig House has remained relatively anonymous during its lifetime due largely to its extensive well planted grounds which are bounded to the south east by the river Bandon. It was built in the distinctive Italianate style which was typical of this era between 1802 and c. 1860. It is best identified by the use of prominently bracketed cornice tower or towers with arched windows.

The current owners have lavished time, money and exacting attention to detail on Ardnacarrig House for the last approx. 30 years. It has undergone two extensive renovations and refurbishments by them, the first of which took place C. 1989 and the most recent in 2010. From Cork City make your way out the N40 towards the Kinsale road roundabout, take tour second exit onto the N40 heading West. Follow the signs for Bandon turning off onto the N71. Follow this road for approx. 22 Kms. On arrival to Bandon you will meet a t junction, take a right turn over the bridge which brings you over the River Bandon followed by an immediate right turn onto Watergate Street.
