This three bedroom home, with two sun terraces, is situated in the Historic white washed village of Mondujar. Close by are the ruins of a Castle used by the Granada Royal Family around 500 years ago. With views over the village square there is a lounge, dining room, kitchen and a bathroom to complement the bedrooms. There are two courtyards and two cave rooms. Granada is around 20 mins away and the beaches of the Costa Tropical around 25 mins. The Sierra Nevada is on the doorstep. There is the long distance path to Lanjaron and skiing is just over an hour away.
The home is filled with Spanish features such as exposed beams and open fire. On the ground floor is the lounge with fire place and a dining room with access to the patio. There are also a water closet, kitchen and access to the second patio. It has two cave rooms which can be used for storage or anything else one wishes. The first floor has one large double bedroom with French windows overlooking the village square. On this floor there is a further twin bedroom which overlooks the patio and a family bathroom (with separate shower and a bath with shower). The second floor offers a further bedroom..

The village of Mondujar is beside Lecrin or Talara. It is historically significant as the Moors were here around the time of the end of the Al Andalus Kingdom. Morayma and Mulay Hacen are known to be buried around here although they haven't found the exact place. There are ruins of a Castle just 600 metres from the village itself in an area called Cerro del Castillejo. This is known to be the first summer residence of the Royal Family of Granada 500 years ago.

Near to the house (300 metres walk) is the restaurant/bar Acropolis with large public swimming pool (only open July & August). In the village there are restaurants, tapas bars, small village supermarkets, a pharmacy and several banks. For the keen walkers, the E4/GR-7 long distance path, runs near the village leading to Lanjarón (the Alpujarras).

The Lecrin Valley is a lovely green, orchard-covered area at the foot of the dramatic Sierra Nevada mountain ranges. An area of outstanding natural beauty, the Lecrin Valley is famous for its verdant landscape (due to the melt-water run-off from the Sierra Nevada), its citrus groves, its walks, bird life and amazing spring colours. Oranges, lemons, figs, pomegranates and cactus line the roadsides.

Around half an hour to 45 minutes (depending where you choose to visit) are the many coastal towns of the beautiful Costa Tropical. Salobrena, Nerja, Almunecar and the city of Motril. Perfect as a holiday destination, away from the hustle and bustle. Historic and beautiful Moorish Granada is within easy reach- around 20 minutes. Here is the World Famous 'Alhambra Palace'. There are airports at Granada and at Malaga which is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away.

The valley is on the edge of the mountains of the Sierra Nevada. Vineyards, olives, white washed villages, skiing, hiking and the opportunity for many outdoor pursuits.

About Butfield Breach, Wiltshire

We are a UK based Independent Estate Agency practice successfully selling homes over the last 15 years. Our people have property experience spanning more than 35 years.
We have organised a service we feel is very special and that can be trusted by both home buyers and home owners wishing to sell. A service that is trusted in the UK and in Spain.

The areas we are specialising in and our buyers are focusing on are:
The Costa Blanca, from the Mar Menor up past Alicante to Moraira. This includes areas inland.
The Costa Tropical from Malaga toward Almeria, taking in Nerja, Sierra Nevada Mountains and Granada.

We do have a large register of buyers looking to buy a home in Spain. These range from:
Part live and part holiday buyers
Part Investment and part holiday
Pure Investment
Home buyers for permanent living.
The first step is an initial chat about how we approach things and what your needs are. Hopefully this will be beneficial to you and a breath of fresh air.

We will ensure that the homes we find for you are as close to your needs as possible and at the right timescale for you.
Probably the most important first step. After listening to you we can advise on the best areas to suit your lifestyle or needs. Our fact find will point you in the right direction especially for those who are initially starting their quest. For investors or holiday home/holiday lets we can report back on the key areas that should give you the best returns.
We engage in a very intense search for you and put together the homes that we feel suit you best, and the reasons they do. If you are making a decision trip then we will save you time. The majority of agents in Spain are happy to engage with us because we rubber stamp the background of buyers (confirm price range, position, seriousness and confirm valuation if a UK home needs to be sold).
The main plus side for you is to ensure that there is transparency and safety in what you buy and the people that are dealt with in Spain take you seriously.
We will put you in touch with Lawyers if you need one. These have been recommended by other homebuyers to us. They will organise such things as your Spanish Tax Payer Number (NIE), make sure there are no debts against the property and the registry plans are in order. We also can put you in contact with a UK Notary if papers need to be dealt with here. The Spanish Notary is a special class of Lawyer who is also a representative of the government. They read and witness the title deed, checks identities, no taxes due or debts outstanding. You then become the home owner.
