Porto Maurizio, which together with Oneglia constitute the town of Imperia, is situated on a promontory overlooking the sea. Its historic center called Parasio is an intersection of alleys and creuze between houses and period buildings. Among its beautiful and numerous expressions of religious architecture you will find the neoclassical Basilica of San Maurizio the largest church in Liguria; the baroque church of Santa Chiara which is attached to a beautiful loggia overlooking the sea from above incorporating an ancient Saracen tower; the Oratory of St. Peter in baroque style whose interior was painted by Tommaso Carrega. Around the old town there are several ancient fishing villages: Borgo Prino with its typical houses with Ligurian colors facing the sea, the promenade, the beaches of pebbles and sand, next to restaurants and bars; Borgo Foce with its small harbor for fishing boats and connected, with a picturesque promenade overlooking the sea, to Borgo Marina with its beaches and the marina, called Calata Anselmi, on whose quay it is hosted the international biennial exhibition of Le Vele d 'Epoca. Once devoted to navigation and especially to the production and trade of oil for which it was famous all over the Mediterranean, today Porto Maurizio with its beaches, its port, its climate is almost predominantly tourist. The property is located within walking distance of all amenities and is only 5 minutes from the exit of Imperia West, 30 min. from Sanremo, 49 min. from the French Riviera, just 1 h from the Nice Cote d'Azur, 1.20 h Airport of Genoa.
