This delightful old cortijo, nestled in a very pretty country valley in the Solano area of Colmenar, has been lovingly restored to offer comfortable, stylish accommodation in a magical, peaceful and natural environment.

A track of 900m leads to a small cluster of country houses spread out across a little area on the side of a hidden valley,and a private gated drive leads into an ample private concrete car parking area. In this area is an outbuilding (4 x 2.5m internal measurements) with beamed ceiling and double wooden double doors.

From here, wide steps lead down and around, bordered by connifer trees and well kept beds planted with young fruit trees of various types, to the side of the house. The steps continue down, past the main terrace at the entrance to the house, and past magnificent, flowering beds of lavendar and rosemary, to a beautiful pool terrace. The pool is very unique, built in a semi circular shape and the views across the valley, looking due West are magnificent and somewhat bucolic! By the pool are pretty areas to relax and enjoy the calm atmosphere of this special place, including a pergola covered terrace and open sunbathing area, with many flowering creepers and carob trees spreading their dappled shade across the terracing. To one side is an olive orchard, running back up the hill on the other side of the house. There are 10 to 15 ancient, mature olive trees in this area, looked after by a local farmer and producing around 20L of olive oil for the owners. Below the pool is a pool house (4 x 2m) which also acts as a store and is currently fitted with a useful fridge.

Returning to the main terrace this lovely covered area is around 9 x 2m and is perfect for outdoor dining most of the year, and a further terrace, shaded by the trees, has a built-in barbecue. From here, double wooden doors lead into the kitchen/dining room (6.25 x 3.25m). This lovely room has original details such as interesting alcoves in the thick walls and beams over an original cane-clad ceiling. A breakfast bar separates the kitchen from the dining area. In one corner is a deep alcove fitted with two large pots incorporated into the base, which were originally used to hold 'cal', the lime based paint used to regularly paint the old buildings. This area is now backlit and makes a very interesting historic feature.

From the kitchen, 2 steps lead down to a useful utility room (2 x 2m) incorporating an original old brick-built domed bread oven set into the wall. This area is plumbed with a washing machine and holds the electric water heater. Beyond is a door to the family bathroom fitted with shower, basin and WC (2 x 1.5m).

Beyond the kitchen/dining room, an opening leads through to a beautiful living room (7 x 3.25m) with a free-standing corner woodburner and built-in seating areas. A wide arch divides this room into two parts and the high ceilings have beams. Beyond this room an arch leads to a further large room (7.5 x 3m) which could easily be fitted with a kitchenette to make a separate apartment and has beautiful stone walls and its own stand-alone woodburner. From here steps lead up to a mezanine level bedroom above, open plan with the room below. The bedroom is beautiful, (3 x 3m) with pretty cottage windows and hand made cabinets, a large oval window and stone decorated wall.

Returning to the dining room, to the left of the front door as one walks in is the staircase to the upper floor. Here we have two further bathrooms, each with an exquisite en-suite bathroom.

The master bedroom is 5.2 x 3.5m including beautiful hand made cabinets, store cupboard with double doors and air conditioning. Its en-suite bathroom is 2.25 x 2m plus interesting alcoves, white-painted beams on the ceiling and beautiful rustic-style tiling. There is a comfortable walk-in shower with glass doors.

Bedroom 2 upstairs is 4 x 3.5m with a low cottage style window over lovely views and hand made, stylish cabinets. This room also has a store cupboard with double doors, and air conditioning. Its en-suite is 2.25 x 2m plus alcoves and similar to the master bedroom en-suite.

Both of these rooms are stylish and beautifully decorated and furnished.
