Casa Pini is situated in a very quiet and peaceful part of Le Marche with a rare 360 degree views of the Sibillini mountain range, Gran Sasso National Park and Montefalcone Appennino, surrounded by nature and the most breath taking mountain views around. At an altitude of 619 meters (2000 ft) above sea level, the mountain views will amaze you and they change every day. Everyone you meet here is friendly and helpful and even if you cannot speak Italian, they are always very patient with you and are keen to listen and understand.
The house is just on the outskirts of Montefalcone Appennino, although quite quaint, this medieval village has an abundant history and charming inhabitants. It is located on top of a cliff between the Aso and Tenna valleys, which allows a panorama of the Sibillini mountains and Monti Della Laga (Mountain range in the central Appenines). The town is dominated by the towers of the medieval castle, the church of Saint Michael (XIX century), the church of Saint Peter (XIV century) and the fifteenth century church of Santa Maria Delle Scalette which is atop one of the oldest tunnels in Italy dating back to 1833.
THINGS TO DO AND SEE
This house is located in a convenient location at around just over half an hour's drive from both the coast and the mountains, in fact Le Marche is the only region with both mountain range and sea, which makes it unique and suitable for everyone.
The coast of our region Le Marche has one of the highest number of Blue Flag beaches of any Italian region (The prestigious Blue Flag is awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education to environmentally well-kept beaches across Europe). All the resorts in the region have a very short season; they're only crowded from mid-July to the third week of August. The best time to come for swimming would be in mid-June or right at the end of August/early September and you'll have plenty of room with reasonably reliable weather. There is a wide variety of beaches from pebble beaches to warm sandy beaches like Porto San Giorgio (very popular with Italian vacationers) or even secluded beaches like the Due Sorelle beach in Sirolo which is situated in a cove and only accessible by boat. But they are all well-known for their crystal clear waters.

Porto San Giorgio
San Benedetto del Tronto
For all the walkers this is a dream location, at a convenient distance from the Sibillini National Park and breathtaking mountain range which is visible from the balcony. The Parco Naturale dei Monti Sibillini, is the region's largest park, spreading over 40 km of mountain peaks. The mountains take their name from a legend that one of the sibyls hid here in a cave on Monte Sibilla known as Grotta delle Fate (Cave of the Furies) when she was chased out of the underworld. There are numerous other places to walk and this area is also a hotspot for mountain biking and skiing in the winter time.
Walks we recommend:
Gola del infernaccio
The area is scattered with amazing villages and cities known for their history, culture, churches and of course award winning restaurants. At least once a year each of these towns have their own festival which people travel far and wide for, and are not limited to the summer season with medieval parades, Palios and many many food festivals continuing through the Autumn and Spring months.
