Cala Fornells is a pretty stretch of coastline adjoining the western end of the seaside resort of Paguera, approximately 20 minutes west of Palma. It consists of apartments and a few villas built close or frontline to the sea, an attractive beach and a small but delightful cove. At roughly the point where the road ends there are 3 hotels. The 4 star Hotel Coronado, a frontline property to the sea and the Hotel Cala Fornells, first opened in 1947, with just 2 rooms, this hotel is run by the third generation of the original family who have expanded the hotel to 94 rooms. The hotel is located behind the beach with an alluring and popular terrace shaded by ancient pines, an ideal spot to relax and enjoy a refreshment. Close-by and overlooking the whole coast is the Hotel Petit Cala Fornells, also 4 stars.There is very little to add to the description of Cala Fornells other than state it is a relaxed and quiet corner of an attractive coastline. There are recently built apartments around 100 metres from the water and older apartment complexes perched above the sea. In addition there are several pleasant restaurants and cafés on the relatively quiet street to Paguera town.
