A HOUSE FOR ALL SEASONS: WINTER : Five minutes from the pretty little family ski resort of le Grand Puy, half an hour from two other much bigger resorts, Charmabel allows every level of skier to enjoy the slopes, and come home to a roaring fire in the woodburning stove. SPRING : The house is in the heart of the Blanche valley, indeed the stream that runs through the property flows into the Blanche. The walking is quite wonderful, from the house there are many walks of all levels and the alpine flowers on the upper slopes of « our » mountain are a joy. SUMMER : With its large garden, gently sloping lawns, stream and woods Charmabel offers sun and shade for everyone. The large terrace running along the front of the house is a veritable suntrap and makes for long happy summer evenings around the table. The Serre-Ponçon lake with its beaches and activities is 40 minutes away. AUTUMN : Breathtaking autumn colours, spectacular sunsets and long mellow walks make autumn here an almost magical season.

Seyne has a twice weekly market throughout the year selling excellent fresh produce, local cheeses, charcuterie and fish. A paradise for gourmets. It has a medical centre and a chemist. 2.5 hours from Marseille airport and AIX TGV. 2.5 hours from Grenoble airport (only operational in winter).
Charmabel has a 9x3m polytunnel which produces lettuces, beans peas, leeks etc but with proper gardening skills could certainly do even more. The house comes with over 30cubic metres of logs, split and stacked, the forest on the property means that the household is self sufficient for firewood.
Charmabel is a wooden chalet in the Swiss style, clad inside and out with seasoned Landes pine panelling and wooden functioning shutters to every window. A traditional wooden balcony runs along the front of the chalet reached by symmetrical stone stairways at each side. Doors off the balcony lead into the kitchen, the first floor lounge and the hall though the main front door.
