Ca' del Campanile, the Bell-Tower house, stands on the site of a 200 year old dwelling, attached to which the adjacent chapel's bell-tower was built. The unusual bell-tower with original bell, which rarely, if ever, is built separately from the chapel or church, is the house's dominant feature. This is mainly due to the fact that hundreds of Bardiggiani emigrated to Wales and England to work in the post war years. Although many settled there and raised families, several of the emigres and their families, children and grandchildren return to Bardi on a regular basis, have homes there, with some opting to live in Bardi all year round.

Situated in the south of the Parma province (the culinary 'home' of Prosciutto di Parma, Parmiggiano Reggiano, wild boar and Porcini mushrooms, to mention but a few), the area therefore belongs to the region of Emilia Romagna. The regions of Tuscany and Liguria though, (including the Ligurian coast) are only a very short distance away, not more than 30/40 minutes by car.
