Rogac is situated on northern side of Solta island which is the most protruding part of the island. The settlement itself dates from a long time ago, founded as the port of central village on the island, Grohote. It is the main port of the island even today.

When the ferrys go back and forth, especially in the summer, Rogac is filled with visitors and locals rushing to their destinations. Thanks to the beautiful nature, beaches, central position and excellent traffic connection, Rogac has become a freestanding destination. It is an ideal place for vacation if you like to explore the entire island while on vacation, but also have beautiful beaches with transparent sea nearby, as well as nature and silence, considering that there are no night bars in the village.

Rogac is the oldest coastal settlement in Solta, inhabited from a long time ago, however always in such a small number that even today there are no more than hundred residents of Rogac, although the pirate troubles are in the past now and the fields are not that far anymore as they used to be.

It is always worth visiting bay Kašjun and Žustove, mostly Banje, because there you can always explore the ruins of old Roman buildings on the coast and ancient walls in the sea.

Rogac is a small village, but on the other hand it's a port of Solta so it always feels alive. There is a market there, however if you need to visit doctor, vet or use a cash-machine, you should go to Grohote. There is a gas station for marine fuel in Rogac.

On-going ferry line connects Rogac with Split, and it is connected with other villages by bus. There is also a catamaran from Split, across Stomorska and Rogac to Maslinica.
