Kalkan has a long Greek history which is still in evidence today, especially along the narrow winding streets that lead up from the harbour area to the town centre. with some stunning traditional stone houses with white-washed walls, overhanging wooden balconies with beautiful cascading Bougainvillaea offering shading and stunning colour to the homes, all in a similar style to the houses on the nearby Greek islands.
