It's fascinating, when walking through the old historic centre of Pollensa Town, how little you can tell about a town-house from it's fassade; this could not be truer of this house! Sitting at the foot of the Calvario lends many charming peculiarities to this property, which rather than being built into the hill, ascends slightly between each of the common areas and leads to the outdoor terraces.

We step up and pass through the lounge to the dining area, which also has a guest bathroom, and step up again to the bar, and then the kitchen with its seating area. Before going outside, let's look at the floor tiles, lovely large, sandy tiles that are easy to keep clean and always look great!

Now let's step up to the first outdoor area... at first glance, the flooring in this area, with comfortable built in bench seating along two sides, seems to be wooden decking, when in fact it's made from ecologically friendly recycled tyres and is a breeze to maintain! The owner of the house tells us that this spot, so close to the kitchen and bar, is a favoured place for guests to chill out.

Up a few steps and to the right... the pool! It's a nice sized swimming pool, for dips on hot summer days, and it has a fountain to add to the ambience of the ample outdoor areas. We walk past the pool to a small lounge area with a shower on the left, and a staircase up to the terrace that overlooks the pool. Here we notice that this could easily be enclosed and used as a small guest room or left as is, a quiet, relaxing place for a siesta.

Let's go back down, past the pool and up the few steps to the next terrace, which boasts a full barbecue with dining area covered by very strategical roofing which keeps the rain off and lets the breeze through, and with the same easy-to-care-for flooring as the first outdoor area.

The terrace continues on for about 5 metres to a sunbathing area with the skylight that is over the bar on the left, and a garden shed on the right. From inside this shed the tubing, prepped for installing air-conditioning, is run into the house. Now we step into the first bedroom, and let's step out again onto that terrace and view, now that's something to wake up to!

The 2 bedrooms on this middle floor are cosy in winter thanks to the wood-burning stove below, and cool in the summer thanks to the breeze flowing through from the terraces, each has it's own full bathroom. Up one more storey is another bedroom with a view of the 'Puig de MarÌa' from the front and over the pool and terrace in the rear. This room is fully functional as a third bedroom or studio but has the possibility to be extended in both directions to become a master suite with bath and terrace, if so desired and per the design of the new owner.

It's situation on a very quiet street in a low traffic neighbourhood with parking only on the adjacent narrow streets lends to much tranquillity. Running parallel is the town's pedestrianised Main Street, offering a pleasant walk to the nearby town cafÈs, restaurants, shops and the town square.

Other facilities worth mentioning are the cistern which collects rainwater from the roof, and is switched to the town's water supply in dry weather, the de-calcifier which keeps the water fresh, filtered and lime-free.

This house was renovated by the owner while living within.
