SAN BIAGIO DELLA CIMA
is an Italian villge of 1,263 inhabitants in the province of Imperia in Liguria.Few are the official news of the country's history. It is certain that the first village is dated back to medieval times: a community of fugitives from neighboring France and adoring the child Symphorian. In pre-medieval stood probably an isolated villa, called Villa Magister and this should also be the original name of the City.
It formed an independent municipality only after the Second World War.
Monuments and places of interest:
Church of Saints Fabian and Sebastian and Biagio
The church according to some historical sources dating back to 1497 it would seem completely extended and modified in 1777 by Andrea Notari. Inside, there is a wooden statue, attributed to the famous sculptor sammargheritese Anton Maria Maragliano, depicting the saint Sebastian dating from the second half of the eighteenth century.
Rose Exhibition is the main event of the resort: every year since 2000, at the Multipurpose Center "The Rose", in the first or second week of May. Rose on exhibition
Celebration of Saint Sebastian January 20
- Celebration of St. Blaise February 3
Celebration of Saint Symphorien August 22 in which are offered typical cakes.
In past centuries the main economic activity of the village was mostly linked to agricultural and wine; widespread in fact was the production of wine Rossese, now integrated with the established business of floriculture.
