Monte Minerva which has many trekking and mountain biking routes as well as the magnificent unspoilt wildlife and plantlife.
Capo Marangiu is well known for its birds of prey, fantastic if you like bird watching.
The island is also popular with motorcyclists and road cyclists as it is the largest island in the Mediterranean, and also the hottest, but with the smallest population so the roads are traffic free and boast magnificent viewing and challenging climbs.
The village has easy access to Alghero 24 km away (15 minute drive) or Sassari 30km (30 minute drive) away. The nearest airport at Alghero (Fertilia) is 30 km away from the property, Olbia airport is 150km and Cagliari 190 km away. Porto Torres, the closest port is only 60 km away and has regular ferries to Genova and Marseilles. Alternatively, you can travel from Olbia or Cagliari on the regular ferries from there. The village has all local amenities - supermarkets, butcher, baker, patisserie, pharmacist, barber, hairdressers, newsagent, tobacconists, building suppliers, DIY store, weekly market on a tuesday, bars, pizzerias, restaurant and nightclub. It has a very active social life particularly in the spring and summer when there are many local festas and sporting events. We have owned the house for 10 years initially as a holiday home and then as a permanent residence and have been extremely happy here. We are re-locating due to family commitments which is why we are regrettably selling it.
