Full description:

A wonderful old farmhouse or cortijo with plenty of potential for more bedrooms and bathrooms, plus a number of large outbuildings, set on a huge plot of 260,000m2 located within 25 minutes of Malaga city in the hills to the North of the city. Once renovated, it has huge potential as a commercial retreat or similar business.

A short drive up the A45 motorway, a hidden little exit off the motorway takes one up a winding concrete country lane into the Montes de Malaga hills above the city of Malaga, and here, amongst the hills and located at the end of a reasonable dirt track of around 1.9 Kms, we find this delightful, charming country house!

The house is partly habitable, meaning that anyone interested in restoring it could live in it whilst the work is being carried out.

The old farmhouse
The main house is on two floors. A large terrace, with pretty views over the hills around, to the front of the house, makes the ideal spot for outdoor living, with a second terrace area with outbuilding (4.5 x 2.5m approx.)* that would make an ideal outside kitchen area . From the terrace, two sets of double front doors lead into the living room (at one end, with free standing cast iron log burner and dining room at the other end. This is a beautiful and spacious room (9 x 3.3m) with beamed ceiling and bursting with character. Part of the floor is laid with exquisite, original floor tiles that somehow need preserving for replacing once a new concrete underfloor and waterproofing on the lower floor has been laid.

To the rear, and leading off this space, is a door to the downstairs bathroom (3 x 2.2m) in excellent condition, and the kitchen, (currently 3 x 3.2m). A store room, accessed from outside, is next to the kitchen, and this could easily be incorporated, partly or entirely, into the kitchen area to make a much larger room. And at the far end to the right of the dining room area is a door leading to two bedrooms, sized 4 x 3.2m each, one leading on from the other, and one currently used as a dressing room.

At the far end of the living room,by the wood burner, are stairs leading to the upper floor.

Upstairs opens straight into a large landing of 5 x 3.2m. Beyond, a door leads into a bedroom of 4 x 3.2m with double doors onto a small balcony to the front of the house, and beyond, straight into the huge upstairs bathroom (4 x 3.2m) with walk-in double shower unit - an absolutely beautiful room!

From both the room used as a bedroom upstairs and from the bathroom, are two further doors leading to the other half of the upstairs, currently not used for anything other than storage. A single partition wall divides this area into two sections of around 10 x 3.3m and 5 x 3.3m.

There is plenty of scope for redesigning the layout of the main house. The main structure is in good condition.



The Outbuildings - located around the old farmhouse

-Adjoining store:
Next to and adjoining the house are two large rooms, accessed via large wooden double doors, of around 4 x 3m and 3 x 3.2m, this second one being the one that backs onto the outer kitchen wall. This area has the potential of being joined to make one unit.

-Side outbuildings and garage:
To one side of the house, and beyond a courtyard or parking area (would make fabulous cobbled style courtyard, decorated with flower baskets and pots, and maybe even a little fountain!) are a series of buildings that could potentially be renovated, consisting of a garage and various adjoining store rooms or animal houses with netted pens (1.5 x 3m plus 3.5 x 2m plus 4 x 2m). This area also has the potential of being joined to make one unit.

-Outside kitchen outbuilding * (see earlier description, size around 4.5 x 2.5m)

-Disused goat farm:
Below thehouse, on the other side of the track is a very large plot of land being sold with thehouse with a large outbuilding once used as a goat farm. This building is at least around 130m2 and has huge potentail also for conversion and an enclosed field beyond.

The land:
The land is made up one plot covering an area of around 260,000 m2. The track to reach the house carries on through the land, which is on a slope, but with plenty of parts that could be made into flat or terraced areas. The land has many almondtrees and also some olive trees, that could be looked after by a nearby Spanish neighbour, who in exchange, provides the owners with delicious olive oil! There are also pomegranates, fig trees and plenty of potential also for vineyards and other fruit trees.

The property has mains water and electricity and a large water tank, and TV and broadband internet. It would be ideal for anyone wishing to live 'the good life' and be as self sufficient as possible, with good, productive soil, and the opportunity to make the land productive. It also has huge potential as a country retreat, yoga centre, and so on.

A water expert has confirmed that there are several good sources of underground water should anyone wish to drill a well for natural irrigation water.
