The south-facing house dates back to 1577 as originally a watchtower to the Papal palace, and is said to be the site from where the painter J.M.W. Turner made a painting of the Ponte delle Torri (c.1840-45) which is now in the Tate Gallery in London.
The historic tower is built on 3 levels.
The lower entrance leads directly into a spacious dining room with fireplace and, through an impressive Roman stone archway, to a kitchen with spectacular views. On this same level there is a bedroom and bathroom. The lower terrace can also be accessed from here.
From the dining room a comfortable spiral staircase leads to the middle floor, with a spacious reception room with fireplace, a living room/study, a bedroom and a bathroom. The house can also be accessed from the outside at this level.
The spiral staircase continues to the upper floor, containing a loft with a very high ceiling, which can be used as a third bedroom, and a half bath. From the loft there is access to a panoramic roof terrace, which also connects to the impressive terraced garden. The garden is dotted with many cypress, pine and olive trees.
There is ample space to build a pool here.
