On the north /35 km/ the furthest eastern point of Bulgaria - cape Kaliakra juts out deep into the sea. The town is popular with its Botanical garden, The Palace of the Romanian queen Maria, the Art Gallery and Archaeological Museum. Three 18-hole golf courses with villa communities and marinas are being developed nearby, two of the courses are designed by Gary Player and one by Ian Woosnam.
