This new development on the West side of Berlin is architecturally very interesting. The construction, with its distinctive round exterior, is situated on the corner of Else-Lasker-Schüler-Strasse and Kurfürstenstrasse and has a direct view of the famed twelve apostles church. The juxtaposition of the residential tower and the old church is the epitome of modern urban living. The apartments are all unique: they are different sizes and each have their own view - some over the street and some into the courtyard garden. To ensure that the apartment is right for you, the developer is offering a tailored living design to meet your individual needs (the size of the living areas range from 56-250 sqm). The area that directly surrounds the apartments is child-friendly, with a delightful public play area for children next to the property. The apartments are accessed via stairs or an elevator. There is also a garage with space for about 88 cars with double parking facilities (entrance on Kurfürstenstrasse).
Interior: High-end, classic materials ensure a timelessly elegant fit-out. In the living areas, floors feature oak parquetry. High doors enhance the sense of spaciousness and permit flowing transitions between the various parts of a given apartment. The solid-masonry walls are given a plaster finish and a bright coat of paint, dispensing with frills of any sort. Analogously, bathrooms emphasize the use of timeless quality materials. Large-format tiles are used for walls and floors, while the reticently styled, bathroom ceramics of the “Duravit Happy D.2” feature clear geometric lines. The same timeless elegance graces the “Hansgrohe” bathroom fixtures with their classic design.
Location: The development is situated in Berlin Schöneberg, between the famous KaDeWe (Shopping centre of the West) and Potsdamer Platz. Nollendorfplatz and Winterfeldplatz are just 400 meters south, where you can find weekly markets and a bustling atmosphere. A few hundred meters north and you'll find the peaceful Landwehr canal, which is just behind the diplomatic quarter where there are many embassies and important political establishments. At the east end of Kurfürstenstrasse is Gleisdreieck park - a huge, vast green area that most Berliners like to relax in or ride through.
The development is located within a quarter called Kielgan-Viertel. Today, Kielgan-Viertel is part of the nearby quarter Lützowviertel between Nollendorfplatz and Lützowstraße. It was named after Georg Friedrich Kielgan (1807-1876), a landlord who owned several estates in this area. In 1867, he began to build a classy neighborhood for well-off residents. In the 1920s, the splendid villa at Kurfürstenstraße 137 was sold to the Polish embassy. During the war, the building was so seriously damaged that in 1958, it was razed to the ground by blasting. In the 1960s the property was temporarily used as an amusement park of the Berlin-Schöneberg’s district fair.
