There are 5 apartments for sale, 3 are still available, in a residence that was once a family mansion, which has now been refurbished to a very high standard.
The apartments range from a 60m² 2-bedroom duplex apartment costing 335,000 € up to a 198m² 3-bedroom split-level apartment - with a fabulous 60m² roof terrace that has panoramic views over Lyon - costing 1,100,000 €.
Four of the apartments are within the main building with the fifth apartment being in a modern extension with its own independent entrance.
Each apartment has its own particular charm and authentic features such as cathedral ceilings and beams. Two of the apartments have a terrace and another two have their own private garden.
The attractive 3-storey residence and the 2-storey extension are in the middle of a 7,000m²-wooded park, which provides for a quiet and secure environment. There is also a private tennis court available for residents only.
Works to the park, the grounds and the tennis court, as well as the outside renovation of the buildings and the common parts within the buildings have been completed.
The interiors of the apartments are all that remains to be finished and we have estimates of the basic costs involved, which are in addition to the purchase price of the apartments. However, because there are a great variety of materials that are available to use and with it also being possible to vary the layout of the apartments depending on personal requirements, we would need to discuss these costs on an individual basis.
Other facilities, such as cellars and parking places, are also available to purchase.
So, if this project sounds like something you may be interested in or if you would like further information, then please contact us, as we would be delighted to discuss your ideas and individual requirements.
Lyon is the third largest city in France, after Paris and Marseilles. Its history reaches as far back as Roman times and was the major city of ancient Gaul. It lies at the junction of two great rivers, the Rhône and the Saône, which converge to the south.
There are many important historical buildings to explore as well as the basilica. For example, there is the Hotel Dieu, which was originally built in the 12th century and later rebuilt by the architect JG Soufflot in the 18th century. There is the Musée de Beaux-Arts, which can be found in the former Abbey of the Ladies of St-Pierre, in the centre of the city. It has one of the largest art collections in France including ancient Egyptian art as well as works by artists such as Manet, Monet, Picasso and many others. There is also, just beyond the Cathédrale St-Jean the Vieux Lyon metro that leads to remarkable Roman remains.
As with any major European city there are excellent shopping facilities, with the famous Part-Dieu shopping centre, located beneath the Credit Lyonnais Tower, a short distance from the TGV station.
Lyon is also known as the gastronomic capital of France and as such there are a multitude of restaurants and bistros in the town that offer everything from simple market produce, or regular fast food, right up to the finest cuisine of anywhere.
St Exupery international airport is about 25 km east of Lyon with flights from the UK handled by most of the major airlines. The TGV station is also there and it is a two-hour trip from Paris and three-hour trip from Lille.
