History and background
The house is one of 12 on a gated condominium that was built in 2002/03.
The town of Gale is well placed for restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets and shopping centres as well as being within walking distance of the beaches. The restaurants range from 2 star Michelin (Villa Joya) establishments to typical Portuguese beach bars - with everything in-between. Although it's a quiet area, it is well served with facilities (its nickname is 'the golden triangle' and Cliff Richard and Bonnie Tyler both have houses within a couple of miles of Gale).
The property
The 12 houses are arranged in two staggered rows - one of 5 and the other of 7 - around two sides of the condominium. This property is the penultimate house in the shortest row. It faces due south and occupies a private, but commanding position on the site.
The other advantage of our position is that the layout of the houses provides us with a pleasant, sheltered environment e.g. sunbathing at Christmas on the terrace is perfectly possible.
The house has 2 balconies - one at the front and one at the rear, both of which sea views - and 2 have allocated parking spaces (one immediately outside the back door and the other further down the site (for visitors, boats or longer term parking). There is air-conditioning on both floors and the fast broadband allows to watch UK TV (and many other channels) and access the internet without any problems (plus an hour's worth of free international calls every month).
The ground floor has a lounge/dining room, a double bedroom (with twin single beds), a bathroom (with shower, washbasin and toilet), a fully fitted kitchen, a storage room under the stairs and a lobby area (with a covered area immediately outside the back door with storage facilities). Upstairs there is a small landing/storage area, the master bedroom (with a king-size bed), a bathroom (with bath, shower above, washbasin, bidet and toilet) and the 2 balconies. Both bedrooms have built-in, floor to ceiling wardrobes and everything is of good quality throughout e.g. marble stairs, granite floors, walls and work surfaces in the kitchen, marble floors to the rest of the ground floor, etc.
The house was completely re-decorated internally over the winter of 2014/15 and the whole condominium has just been painted externally (summer 2016).
