La Plagne is in the Savoie department of the Alps and is one of the largest ski resorts in Europe. It has more than 120 ski runs catering for all levels of ability. It is also linked to the popular resort of les Arcs by cable car, so both resorts are within a few minutes of each other.
All of the ten villages that comprise La Plagne have good access to one another and contain many other activities aside from skiing and snow boarding. These include bowling, walking trails, hang-gliding, quad biking, gym/fitness training, paint balling and even bobsleighing. Après ski is provided by a multitude of restaurants, bars and nightspots, which offer something for everyone.
The apartment is also close to Moûtiers, which is a working town with good routes to all the major towns, ski resorts and villages in the Tarentaise region, including Brides-les-Bains, Courchevel, the 3 Valleys, Bozel, Champagny-en-Vanoise and Valmorel.
It is an attractive and interesting town that has many historical and cultural features, with the river Isère flowing through its centre. It has a pleasant climate and features snow in the winter and glorious sunshine in the summer. The town hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, has a local market twice a week and has lots of shops, bars and restaurants that open all year round.

The closest international airports are at Lyon and Geneva, with Chambéry an option during the alpine season.
Eurostar offers a direct train service to Bourg St Maurice or Moûtiers, which are both easily accessible. There are excellent road links to all villages in the region.
