Mauprevoir is a very pretty village, with lots of character and lots going on for everyone. The people in the village are very friendly and as we have found very helpful. The village has all the amenities needed for rural life, a small supermarket, a bakery, pharmacy, post office, library, doctor's surgery, 2 local nurses, primary school (3 to 11 yrs.), garage and hair dressers.
It also boasts a park with children's play area and fishing lake which also contains a tennis court.
The commune has a lot going on throughout the year (http:⁄⁄www.mauprevoir.fr⁄IMG⁄pdf⁄2A_me_parution_2014-compressed4517.pdf )(last two pages) and many clubs⁄activities to join such as, Boules, football, card craft and scrapbooking, Mah-Jong, Walking, knitting, Gym, whatever takes your fancy there's even a 50m rifle range. There are also plenty of places off the beaten track for cycle or walking. We also have two canoeing centres approx. 20 min drive away.
We are approximately 15 min from Savigne, 20 min from Civray and 20 min from the very pretty town of Confolens. All of which have larger Supermarkets and D.I.Y stores and other shops.
