The Art Furrer Hotel Group on the Riederalp (Aletsch Arena) is considered to be the most important group when it comes to tourism in the area. Owning many hotels and apartment buildings, their drive is still enormous.

The largest glacier of the Alps, the Aletsch Glacier, is at a stone's throw from these apartments and can be seen by the panoramic skiing route which leaves from the 3.000 meter Eggishorn (the highest mountain of the Aletscharena).

The resort can only be reached by the cable car, which means that you park your car in the valley. Thanks to this, the Aletscharena is one of the only car-free skiing resorts in Switzerland. Zermatt is only a 1 hour drive from the valley car-park, whereas Lugano and Geneva can be reached in just over 2 hours.
