The Story
They loved the tranquillity of the exclusive estate and the Stradbroke Park house was the perfect place from which to enjoy it.
The current owners have been at the sumptuous modern home for about 12 years now and have enjoyed the comfort and quality of life it has provided them with.
We like the fact it is in a gated area and that the house was set well back from the road, she explained.
There is plenty of space, all the bedrooms had en-suite bathrooms and, overall, the property accommodates all our needs.

LAVISH CELEBRATIONS

After buying the house, which is modern but has a Tudor-style appearance, the owners decided to extend it.
We really doubled it in size, she said. The extension gave us a lot of extra space, including two main rooms downstairs and a function room.
Since then the property has proved simply superb for entertaining. The indoor heated pool, which has bright, Roman garden themed murals on the walls, also features an area where guests can dine or enjoy a drink by the swimming pool.

The function room is fantastic, she said. We have had some wonderful parties in there. We have so much car parking space here as well - it is very easy to accommodate lots of people.

COMFORTABLE LIVING

The family also enjoy the space the house offers, and when it comes to weekends, they can all spread out and find space to pursue their own pastimes.
We enjoy the whole house - upstairs and down, she said.
There is a great loft area where the children can play without disturbing anyone else. Meanwhile we make the most of our lovely indoor swimming pool downstairs.

Despite its size, the property is well-used throughout, with different spaces proving ideal at different times of year.
The television room is very nice in the winter, she said. This has been decorated in rich, deep colours. This room was originally a bedroom and it could be changed back very easily.

EXQUISITE STYLE

The family like traditional as well as contemporary décor and have brought together styles from the East and West.
The master bedroom features a four-poster bed and heavy red drapes, whilst the other bedrooms boast a modern style with their own contemporary en-suite bathrooms. The stunning kitchen has been designed in eye-catching black and white while the dining room and drawing room have a formal elegance.
There is plenty of room to entertain friends downstairs or just relax by yourself in one of the cosier spaces, she added.

QUIET CONTEMPLATION

French windows right across the back of the Stradbroke Park house can be opened up on to the terrace as soon as the weather warms up.
The family then enjoy entertaining outside, as well dining quietly in the sunshine.
One of the wonderful things about this house is that it is so quiet here, she said. It is so easy to get into central London yet it is tranquil when we are in the house or garden.
I will miss that very much, as well as the privacy, when we leave.

Ground Floor Accommodation

The impressive mock Tudor facade of the house is in-keeping with the equally charming surrounding homes. Stepping inside, the large and welcoming reception hall has a striking black and white marble cheque floor with contrasting mocha walls and stairs that ascend to the first floor.
