4 bedroom detached house for sale

Property Description

Key features

Full description

Situated on Mill Lane, in the popular Woburn Sands area is this imposing family home. The house has been lovingly updated and offers well proportioned accommodation including four bedrooms, three reception rooms and four bathrooms.
In addition you will find a large two-bedroom annexe, along with a charming garden and terrace.

Stepping out on to the terrace and settling down to lunch in the sunshine, the owners of Mill Farm often imagine they are on holiday.
Drawn to the property, which dates back some 350 to 400 years, for its great potential and superb location, they have completely refurbished it, creating a home that is now bright and modern, as well as full of character.
We feel like we are living in the country here and yet at the bottom of the lane there is a little town, said one of the owners. This is a wonderful place to live - and being here feels like you are on holiday all year round.
In fact, there is nowhere else I would rather be in this country, and no other house that could really match this home.

Once an important local property, the period home enjoys an enviable position close to the Aspley Guise and Woburn Sands Golf Course.
With four bedrooms and generous reception spaces, it also features a self-contained two-bedroom annexe.
After moving here, we worked our way through the house, renovating and refurbishing it. We have really given it a facelift all the way through, she explained.
It is now an amazing home and we are going to find it very hard to leave.

The owners now make the most of the entire house, from the modern kitchen dining area, with its granite work surfaces, through to the sumptuous bedrooms and bathrooms.
I do love being in the kitchen. In the summer, we open the bi-folding doors and enjoy the indoor outdoor living.
The floor tiles run all the way out, creating one large space, and making it ideal for al fresco dining, she said.
In the winter, we pull the curtains back in the master bedroom, and look out on to the balcony and the garden. When there is snow, it is just beautiful.

The annexe has huge potential to become whatever new owners would like it to be, she explained. Overlooking the golf course, it features an open plan living and kitchen area, as well as its two bedrooms and bathroom.
We have had large family Christmases here and have used the annexe for the celebration, she said. It is very large and so it was ideal.
But it could also be offices or have another purpose altogether.

The careful combination of modern décor and comfortable living areas with original features has made Mill Farm a very special home, according to the owners.
We had the old beams sand-blasted and kept as many other features as possible, such as the open fireplace, she said. It all looks wonderful now and has been a lovely place to live.
Its peaceful location has made it a great place to relax at the end of a busy week.
It is a very relaxing place to spend time, she said. We will take so many good memories with us when we leave. This has been our dream home.

This charming family home is located on the edge of the 14th hole of Aspley Guise Golf Course and sits in a plot of around two thirds of an acre. An entrance porch welcomes you into the home and further through is the reception hall. The sitting room boasts an open fireplace and French doors guiding to the garden. To the other side of the hall is the family room with built in storage, views over the front and a door through to the utility room. To the rear of the home is a large open plan kitchen/dining area that has been well finished with granite work surfaces and built-in appliances, along with a central island and breakfast bar. Additionally there is porcelain tiled flooring, space for an American style fridge and bi-fold doors to rear garden, creating a lovely social flow. Just off the kitchen lies a study, while the huge utility room connects the main home to the annexe.

The stairs to the first floor are located in the reception hall. The first floor landing provides access into all four bedrooms and the family bathroom. Bedroom four has views to the side of the home and is located opposite the family bathroom which has a bath, shower cubicle, WC and basin, a haven in which to relax and unwind. Bedroom three enjoys storage in the eaves, views over the side of the home and an en-suite shower room. Moving on, bedroom two offers views over the rear and a further en-suite with shower room. Completing this floor is the impressive master bedroom which has double doors out to a private balcony, and an en-suite with storage and a shower.

The annexe can be accessed via a separate entrance with its own driveway, or through the utility room in the main house. The first room you will find a vast kitchen/family room which has been finished to a high standard with exposed beams adding a wealth of charm. The two bedrooms are of similar size, both with built in storage and are situated on either side of the bathroom.

Sitting amid two thirds of an acre, Mill Farm enjoys views out over the golf course.
With a balcony and a terrace, as well as the lawn, there are plenty of places here to make the most of outdoor living.
We have a summerhouse and at the bottom of the garden is a stream, she said. There are crayfish there, and we often see heron and ducks. Children love to wander down there to feed them.
And she added: We use the garden and the terrace a great deal when the weather is warm.
There are various mature trees and the fully enclosed fence makes the garden safe and secure.

Despite feeling a million miles from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Mill Farm is conveniently located, said the owners.
Woburn Sands is just a short car journey away from Central Milton Keynes where Milton Keynes Station can be found, along with a shopping centre, supermarkets, pubs and bars.
We have the train station at Woburn Sands and we are close to shops, restaurants and schools.
Nearby Woburn Estate has 3,000 acres and boasts an abbey, a safari park and spectacular gardens. There are plenty of walks and parks close as well.
This home is conveniently placed for commuters and is about 4 miles away from junction 13 of the M1 Motorway.
We are very central here for all the motorways, she said.

Enter Aspley Guise from the direction of Bedford via Bedford Road. At The Square in the centre of Aspley Guise turn right onto Church Street. Take the second left into Mill Way and follow along. Mill Way becomes Mill Lane. Follow along (over the golf course) and Mill Farm is the last house on the right hand side.
