The Story
As the sun streams into their home and the dappled light moves slowly across the garden, the Dhands admit they feel a million miles from anywhere else.
Here at Rosecroft, their exquisite mature garden opens up on to the undulating countryside beyond, creating their own unique place within time and space.
Our house looks out over the valley - and when we saw the beautiful views we knew we wanted to live here, said Arun.
It is a very contemporary house, ideal for anyone who enjoys entertaining, and it has so much open space.

EASY LIVING

The couple moved into their beautiful Buckinghamshire home three years ago now. They remember being taken with the easy flow of its layout and the airiness of its rooms.
The accommodation here is very good. You feel as if you have lots of room, said Arun.
The house was in good condition when they bought it but, nevertheless, the couple decided to make their own mark, upgrading the bathrooms and decorating to their own tastes.
I think we wanted to make it even more contemporary, he admitted.

MAKING AN IMPACT

Today, Rosecroft certainly has a bright, modern style. Wooden floors and neutral walls frame a largely black and white colour scheme, with accents of brighter tones here and there.
The dramatic entrance hall makes an immediate impact with a vaulted ceiling and galleried landing. The kitchen features white units and a black and white herringbone patterned floor.

ENTERTAINING AT HOME

The house is already ideal for entertaining, stressed Arun, but the couple did have plans to improve it further.
We have achieved planning permission to extend the house and to create an entertainment room, he explained. This would involve expanding the basement area without losing any garden.

RELAXING TIMES

The easy flow between ground floor rooms already makes the house perfect for parties, he went on, as well as for owners with children.
We spend most of our time in the family room, which is great for entertaining in and for just relaxing quietly on your own, he said.
It is nice to sit in there and to look out on to the garden or to be in the kitchen, which is a very, very good size.

COUNTRY VIEWS

But Arun and Meena's favourite place of all is out on the stone terrace. Here they can truly appreciate the beauty of their surroundings and the gentle pace of life at Rosecroft.
We can relax out there in the sunshine, enjoying the fresh air and gazing across the valley, he said.
In fact, he added. There is nothing more pleasant than sitting out on the terrace, spending time just listening to the birds and looking out at the view.

Accommodation
Ground floor

Set within a private road between Gerrards Cross and Denham, Baker's wood is an absolute discovery of leafy green suburbia. Resting at the heart of the home, you find the light and airy kitchen. Setting the scene
The lush green garden at Rosecroft has afforded Arun and Meena hours of pleasure at the home, with illuminated steps leading to the expanse of lawn and two decking areas it's a struggle to choose where to sit. With such breathtaking views you cannot fail to relax and enjoy the mature trees, shrubs and peace.
The terrace, with its easy access to the house, has been a wonderful spot to enjoy meals and cold drinks outside, or to sit with a book in the sunshine.
The long lawn is the perfect place to hold summer parties and events, with plenty of space for a marquee.
The leafy, mature trees provide lots of shade and allow the garden to blend beautifully into its verdant, country surroundings.
To the front of the property there is a double garage and a spacious driveway which provides ample parking.
