Full description

A uniquely styled detached house enjoying a most desirable semi rural setting, commanding countryside views to the front and beyond the beautifully landscaped gardens. This is a wonderfully secluded position, having fields on two sides and is approached over a short country track

just off a quiet lane that winds its way down through a rural landscape to the picturesque Alkham Valley. The situation is perfect for country walks,

cycling and horse riding, yet it also has the advantages associated with living on the edge of an active village scene.

The house is approximately 20 years old; it features a highly individual design with light and airy rooms, most taking advantage of the outstanding views and sunny south facing rear aspect. The spacious, tastefully

decorated living accommodation has the benefit of plenty of cupboards and storage spaces within the eaves, gas central heating, and UPVC sealed unit double glazed windows and doors. The particularly versatile internal arrangement would be very well suited to a variety of family situations, for example using the wing above the large double garage as a self contained

annexe.

The indoor heated swimming pool and fitness complex is a luxurious, fully attached addition to the house, occupying a wing with a high vaulted ceiling and mezzanine viewing lounge above one end of the pool. Twin sets of patio doors open onto a south facing terrace overlooking the garden and countryside beyond. Beneath the mezzanine is a multi gym area with a sauna and off to one side a pool shower room and separate

WC.

What the Owner says:

“’Seclusion without isolation’ perfectly describes this property. We feel totally at peace and quiet in our haven in full knowledge that our neighbours are only just around the corner and all amenities are only a short distance away. Yet once in our tranquil surroundings we are uninterrupted by anyone or anything. The music we (but not our neighbours) hear on our patio comes from our own lounge. Our joy is swimming our lengths each morning in our own 28 ft. Swimming pool, invigorating us for the day ahead while looking out on the multitude of bird life that frequents our garden. Apart from our constant companions, the blackbirds and sparrows, who often come to the window demanding sultanas, we also see a wide array including finches, tits, woodpeckers, the occasional bird of prey and as many as 5 pheasants at a time. We’ve even had a Crimson Rosella, a parakeet more at home in the warmth of Australia, visit us these last 2 winters. We love the feeling of space that we enjoy in our main rooms and on our patio and the fact that on a summer’s day the patio is a real sun-trap, drenched in sunshine all day long. With direct access from patio and lounge into the pool complex we can pop in and out as often as we want."
